Americans: how many of you were actually taught about the USA’s genocidal war against the Philippines in school?

The American government is a genocidal war machine. Not only has it actively participated in genocide, its also helped countries commit genocide all for political clout. Look up the 1971 Bangladeshi Genocide. 

Counting the genocides we helped in would like include most of the goddamn world yeah

Look up what the U.S. did in Indonesia, the fourth most populous country after the U.S.

The Guatemalan Genocide of the Maya people is another one. The confirmed death toll was more 42,000. The Maya were seen as sub-humans (and still are) and that’s not all. There were over 400,000 people “disappeared” including an uncle of mine, my great granny died thinking he was found. The death toll for adults is somewhere between 45,000 and 60,000. But since many of Ladinos (black and indigenous) and Maya were buried in mass graves we have no way of knowing. All of this was backed by the U.S armed forces.

yall might also wanna learn about laos and “the secret war”, which was basically a us backed civil war. the US dropped so many bombs, most not-city places are still unsafe. it’s apparently one of the most bombed countries on earth, agent orange was used there, bombs still lay in the dirt ready to explode, and i never ever learned about it in school. kinda terrifying
